BIRDING AT COLON FORESTS (4 days)
This expedition is designed for a maximun of 8 guests.
Be ready at 5:00am to an early pick up from your hotel. Our day will include Galeta Island, a mangrove forest managed by Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute; a stunning Panama Canal crossing by ferry; a little stop in the Gatun Damm; lunch and acomodation at Achiote town. In the Afternoon birding at Toucan Center, and dinner. For those who are enough excited, we could look for owls in the Achiote Road after 10:00pm.
Breakfast at 6:30am. Today we will visit "El Trogón" trail; visit to special spots inside local estates; lunch at Achiote Town. Afternoon visits to Achiote Road bridges, and paddocks. The targets for today are White-headed Wren, White-tailed Trogon, Spot-crowned Barbet, Rufous-breasted Hermit, among others. Dinner.
Breakfast at 6:30am. Our day will start with a short stop at Gatun Damm; after that, be prepare for a 5km trail at "Cerro Pavón" looking for Antbirds, Motmots, Trogons, and others. Lunch at Shelter Bay Marina. Canal crossing. Afternoon birding at Ammo Dump Pond, acomodations at a Gamboa Lodge, dinner.
Fast breakfast at 6:00am, to start at 6;45am at the Panama Rainforest Discovery Center. This is the best spot to see canopy species, because of a 34 meters observation tower installed in the middle of the property. There are hummingbirds feeders full of birds almost year round. Tour includes tower, visitor center, and lake lookout. The specialities of this tour are: Blue Cotinga (jan - june), Purple-throated Fruitcrow, Crimson-crested Woodpecker, Black-faced Anttrush, Southern Bentbill, among others.
At noon we will move to Gamboa Rainforest Resort Marina to board a boat to visit Chagres river islands, including a couple with monkeys. To close our expedition we will have a buffe lunch while birding from our table.
After lunch, drop off to your hotel or the airport.

PANAMA EAST, THE ROUTE TO DARIEN (2 days)
Be ready at 5:30am to an early pick up from your hotel. After one hour drive we will visit one of the best kept secrets in Panama, La Jagua Marsh. This is a private rice farm, full of shorebirds, herons, birds of prey, and other species. More than 20 km of rustic roads offer ponds, grasslands, forest, canals, and river. The specialities of this place are: Savanna Hawk, Pearl Kite, Bare-throated Tiger-Heron, Pied-water Tyrant, Red-breasted Meadowlark, among several others. Depending on weather and birds, we will leave at 11:00 am.
At 1:00pm we will have lunch and receive rooms in the hotel. After lunch we will visit the river banks of Río Tortí. Dinner. Go sleep soon for be ready to a wild early morning at Reserva San Francisco. We will leave at 5:00am to see Owls and other night life. This is the best place to find specialities like: King Vulture, Orange-headed Oriole, One-colored Becard, Speckled Mourner, and more than 250 species. Box Breakfast. At noon we will return to the hotel for check-out and lunch. During return we will make a birding stop on the road. The trip ends at your hotel.

Most of the trip will be in flat roads, but in San Francisco there is a medium difficult hill. Depending on group and birds, we will climb or not. SOBERANIA PARK - CANAL ZONE BIRDING
We will start our adventure at your hotel 5:00 am. Short stop for coffee then directly to the Pipeline Road.
World wide recognized Pipeline Road starts at the Panama Rainforest Discovery Center. This is the best spot to see canopy species, because of a 34 meters observation tower installed in the middle of the property. There are hummingbirds feeders full of birds almost year round. Tour includes tower, visitor center, and lake lookout. The specialities of this tour are: Blue Cotinga (jan - june), Purple-throated Fruitcrow, Crimson-crested Woodpecker, Black-faced Anttrush, Southern Bentbill, among others.
After a short rest at visitor center, we will move to Juan Grande Creek, to walk in the Pipeline Road, looking for deep forest species. At noon some open areas birds will increase our list at Ammo Dump Pond. Aproximately 1:00pm we will have lunch at Gamboa Rainforest Resort Restaurant (if available) from this point we will enjoy stunning views of Chagres River with several opportunities to bird.
Our next spot will be Summit Ponds, and the Old Gamboa Road, where we could be able to see: Crested Oropendola, Boat-billed Heron, Lance-tailed Manakin, Great Antshrike, Jet Antbird, White-bellied Antbird, and many more.
At 5:00 pm, chek-in will be ready for us at our Gamboa Hostel. Dinner. Please sleep well, because owls are waiting for us at 5:00 am. We will look for Spectacled Owl, Motled Owl, Tropical Screech Owl, Black and White Owl, Common Pauraque, and others, all of them in the surroundings of Gamboa and the Pipeline Road. At 6:30am we will move to Gamboa Old Airstrip, looking for Orioles, Caciques, Antbirds, and several others. 11:00am we will return to our hostel for lunch and check-out.
In the afternoon you can decide between a cultural visit to the Miraflores Locks, a "Must see" when you visit Panama for first time; or urban birding at the former Clayton US Army Base. Today Clayton is known as "City of Knoledge" where several tech companies, Colleges, and start-ups companies are based. They have gardens and remains of forest vegetation where we can find: Fork-tailed Flycatcher, Saffron Finch, Yellow-crowned Tyrannulet, and others. And to conclude this visit, we will move to Clayton Pond to see the Least Grebe (only if Pond has water). Our adventure finish at your hotel in Panama City.

OTHER STUNNING EXPEDITIONS
DARIEN - HARPY EAGLE - Depending of the best nest location, this tour could last 3 or 4 days. Camping could be required. In the way to the nest, the most hard bird species of Panama could be found. We can observe Macaws, Hawk-eagles, Quails, and many, many more. The tour includes, local guide, entrance fees, arragements with local authorities, professional guide from the beginning to the end, boats, horses (if needed), helpers (if needed), first aid kit, camping and survival techniques advisory, transportation (4x4 rented car). This tour requires booking at least two months in advance, and is offered only if weather conditions are ok.
HIGHLANDS - Visit the Baru Volcano Summit, and observe the elusive Volcano Hummingbird, the Volcano Hummingbird, Sooty Thrush, and others. Nightlife could be included upon request. Explore Los Quetzals trail, and be surprised by the Pipeline Road od Chiriqui, special species. We can include Bocas del Toro with its specialities, or Chiriqui Lowlands depending of the species you want to see. This expedition includes transportation (4x4 rented car), accomodations, entrance fees, professional guide from the beginning to end of tour in Panama City. Air fare is not included.
